The Best Poker Book I Own
This is actually the second book of Mr. Steiner’s I’ve read. The first was his introduction to economics textbook at college.

  2. Uriah says:

Thoroughly enjoyable, Good to have in your Poker Library
This book is for people who like to play Poker for “medium” stakes (not nickel-dime-quarter). It’s an enjoyable read.

  3. Valin says:

    not bad
its a good book, starts off pretty dry and relatively simplistic but gets better after the tells section.

  4. Ida says:

    A Real Value.
This is a very good book that is quite well written; however, since it is from 1996, it’s rather dated.

  5. Edna says:

    4.0 out of 5 stars
    Excellent for Serious Home Games
This book is unique in that it covers strategy and tactics for play in
serious home games instead of a casino or online.

  6. Henriette says:

    4.0 out of 5 stars
    Almost exactly what I needed
As a casual poker player (small stakes once or twice a month with friends) I win as often as I lose, most often ending within 10% of my initial buy-in.

  7. Sabiti says:

    3.0 out of 5 stars
    mixed bag
Let me begin by saying that I regard myself as a decent amateur player. I also have different feelings about different aspects of this book.

  8. Naflah says:

    5.0 out of 5 stars
    First-rate Reading and Reference
A poker text has to fit the player– beginners don’t need statistical dissertation, pros don’t need ‘what would you dohere’ stuff.

  9. Kaikoura says:

    5.0 out of 5 stars
    excellent book — well researched
I echo what other reviewers have written: This book is better for the average home game where the stakes are low and play is loose.

  10. Field says:
